Someone has done this work and is available, and the card favours seeking them out in particular rather than crowdsourcing an answer from people who have not.

Reversed, The Hermit is usually about withdrawal that outlived its purpose. There was a good reason to go quiet and the reason has passed, but the quiet has become comfortable, and re-entry keeps getting deferred. This is the reading for anyone who has been meaning to reply to several people for a number of months. The card is not scolding; it is noting that the retreat has stopped producing anything and has started costing. The second reading is refused help. Someone knows the answer, is willing to give it, and taking it would require admitting you have been getting it wrong. The Hermit reversed tends to appear when the isolation is being maintained specifically to avoid that admission.
