Reflecta is your world through tarot. This site is part of it: the card meanings, the spreads, and the guides to reading them.

What Reflecta is

It starts with an app for doing readings, where every pull is kept rather than scrolled past: what you asked, what you drew, and what it meant. Over time those readings gather into something you can move through.

The longer intention is broader than one app. Tarot has a reference layer, a practice layer and a community around it, and most of that currently lives in scattered corners of the internet built a long time ago. Reflecta is being built to hold all of it in one place.

How the card meanings are made

The meanings are based on the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, published in 1909 and the version nearly every modern deck descends from. The illustrations are public domain, which is why the actual card art appears on every page here rather than a redrawn approximation.

Each card page is drafted, then read back and rewritten by hand, particularly the opening and closing passages and the symbolism section. That section describes specific things visible in the illustration, because it is the part that has to be true about one card and no other. A page is not published until it has been through that pass.

The structural facts, which card is which number, which suit, what the traditional keywords are, come from the same deck data that runs inside the Reflecta app, so the site and the product cannot disagree with each other.

What this site is not

It is not fortune telling and it does not predict events. Tarot is useful because it shows a situation from an angle you would not have picked, and it interrupts the story you have already settled on. That works whether or not you think anything mystical is happening.

Nothing here is medical, legal or financial advice. Where a card page talks about health or money, it is describing what the card traditionally means in a reading, not telling you what to do.
